David’s busy summer schedule continued with a recent trip to Italy to perform as guest soloist with the Melicucco Concert Band as part of a festival celebrating their 20th Anniversary. A number of solo items were performed with the band in the Gala Concert, including Verdi’s Di Provenza il mar, il suol from La Traviata for the first time, alongside a few more familiar solos.
Aside from performing, David also led a Besson Brass workshop for Palladium Music, and enjoyed listening to the Messina Brass Band with Giuseppe Paratore. David’s thanks go to all involved, especially to Maurizio Managò - the driving force behind Wind Band performance in the Calabria region of Italy.
