David recently gave a luchtime recital in Birmingham's Adrian Boult Hall. It was here where he premiered Philip Wilby's Concert Gallop trio with his father and uncle 18 years ago! Its also where David permiered Gareth Wood's Euphonium Concerto with the RAF Central Band 8 years ago. On this 2013 occasion he was joined by pianist Chris Williams and viola player Robin Ireland.


Robin performed J S Bach's Sixth Suite for Cello in D major, transcribed for viola in G major befoe David and Chris took to the stage to perform the following: Charles Villiers Stanford's Caoine, Johan Nepomuk Hummel's Fantasy, Karl Jenkins' Romanza, & Simone Mantia's Endearing Young Charms.

David commented, "It was great to play in the ABH again, its a wonderful hall. As a tutor at Birmingham Conservatoire it was also particularly nice to look into the audience and see my students, together with colleagues such as David Purser (Head of Brass) and Ian Porthouse (Cornet & Conducting tutor)."
