David recently returned from Canada where he was a featured soloist and conductor in the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo, the largest indoor show of its kind in the world.

Over 10 days David performed to an audience in excess of 60,000 as he played solo items with a chamber brass group from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, and also conducted the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama Brass Band as part of the Tattoo show.

David commented, "I'd been looking forward to performing as a soloist in the prestigious Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo for some time, but wasn't sure which group I'd be playing with out there. At the last minute, the Tattoo were looking for a top class band to perform throughout the entire show and I was delighted they invited the Brass Band of the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. Not only would it be a great opportunity for the students, their appearance would make a huge musical impact on the show. My father is the conducter of the RWCMD Brass Band, but as he was in Japan for the start of the 'run' I ended up flying out with the band as soloist, and for the first week conductor too! What a great experience... The students were stars for the full duration. Working with them, my father, the Tattoo and NABBSS was a real pleasure." More on NABBSS (North American Brass Band Summer School) to follow!

Below is an article printed in the paper following the preview show, some television footage and photos.
