Carol Barratt is a leading piano teacher and specialist in music education. She was the first female to be awarded the Martin Musical Scholarship for composition by the Philharmonia Society and is an Honorary member of the Royal College of Music. Carol is active throughout the UK as a workshop facilitator and lecturer and her compositions range from educational music for young children to concert repertoire.

Carol has been associated with Boosey & Hawkes Music Publishing for many years and has developed the highly successful '91Bravo!'92 publications for beginner musicians. With '91Bravo! Editions already available for the trumpet, french horn and trombone, the euphonium is now able to boast its very own '91Bravo!'92 publication edited by David Childs who commented,

'93I spend a great deal of my time trying to generate cutting edge euphonium repertoire in order to raise the instrument's profile as a solo instrument within the larger world of classical music. I'm now delighted that at the the other end of the scale, original music is also being written for young beginner euphonium players; I'm convinced this selection of brand new pieces expertly crafted by Carol Barratt will provide the perfect musical tool for young euphonium players to enjoy their music making from a very early age.'94
