The highlight of this particular part of the trip was always going to be the Australian Premiere of the Karl Jenkins Concerto, but with masterclasses, TV appearances, duet performances, and meeting up with old friends there was plenty to enjoy before arriving in Perth.

"Working with my father was so much fun. To hear him play again was just as much an education as it was when I was younger. Working with enthusiastic bands, players and conductors in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth was also a pleasure, but visiting the venue where my father premiered Golland's euphonium Concerto when I was a one year old, then heading across town to perform Karl Jenkins' Concerto under my father's direction (30 years on!) was a pretty special feeling."
