David commented, "I was delighted when Manfred contacted me earlier this year about the prospect of Joanne, myself and the Flowers Band performing with him in Switzerland. Manfred is a very well respected conductor and has worked with my father Robert, my uncle Nicholas, and their respective bands on many occasions over the last twenty years. I was delighted to have this opportunity to play for him, especially appearing in concert with my wife and my own band Flowers."

With a programme which included Lalo's Le Roi d'Ys, a new euphonium solo based on Handel's Harmonius Blacksmith and the popular flugel horn solo arrangement of Rodrigo's Concerto de Aranjuez David, Joanne, and the Flowers Band gave two fantastic concerts to capacity audiences under the expert direction of Manfred Obrecht.

David concluded, "Manfred's innate musicality and charisma brought a new dimension to the band's performance in Switzerland, and provided all involved with a wonderful musical experience to bring to a close what has been the most succesful year in Flowers Band's history."
