Following a gruelling schedule with performances in Austria, Japan, New Zealand and Australia David recently made an appearance in the USA where he was guest international artist at Nichols College near Boston for the Cosmopolitan Tuba Euphonium Workshop. Here's an entry from David's facebook diary:

"Caught up with the amazing Demondrae Thurman last night and just attended a great masterclass given by John Sass. I have rehearsals this afternoon, then a recital, masterclass and clinic tomorrow before heading to Pittsburgh."

The clinic was a lecture on the history of brass bands and the masterclass featured euphonium students of all abilities performing a variety of repertoire.

"Worked with 7 talented euphonium players in a masterclass this morning. Pantomime, Horowitz Concerto, La Belle Americaine, Telemann Sonata - just some of the repertoire covered. Recital went well - enjoyed playing for the delegates. My lecture on 'The development of the brass band and its repertoire from 1850 to present day' went surprisingly well too! Now back at Boston Airport, waiting to make my way to Pittsburgh."

Highlights from David's Boston Recital, and River City Brass workshop in Pittsburgh can be seen on the following video diary, together with exclusive footage from of a very famous tuba ace doing the YMCA at a ball game!
