National Youth Wind Orchestra of Great Britain

Following a busy start to 2006 David Childs is to appear as guest soloist with the National Youth Wind Orchestra of Great Britain as they complete their Easter Residential Course with concerts at Birmingham's CBSO Centre and London's St. John'92s Smith Square.

This year's Easter Course has been taking place at Radley College Oxfordshire and began on April 2nd under the baton of their principal conductor James Gourlay. The concerts on April 11th&12th will be the culmination of intensive music making by some of Britain's finest young wind players, and for both evenings they will be joined by euphonium soloist David Childs.

David is no stranger to National Youth organisations having been a member of both the National Youth Brass Bands of Wales & Great Britain. However, playing with the National Youth Wind Orchestra will be a new experience;

'93I was never a member of NYWO, but I often went to their concerts to watch my sister play trumpet. They're a fantastic band, and with Jim conducting it will be a real privilege to perform with them. I'm looking forward to experience '96 it should be good fun.'94
