Following a successful conducting debut in London'92s Royal Albert Hall, David flew out to Toronto to perform as guest artist with Canada'92s premiere professional brass band, Hannaford Street Silver.

Conducted by Alain Trudel, Principal Guest Conductor of the Victoria Symphony Orchestra, David gave two Concerto performances which earned him standing ovations, plus a master class at the University of Toronto, later described as '93the finest I have ever attended'94 by Raymond Tizzard, Orchestral Manager of the Toronto Ballet.

From Toronto it was back to the UK to perform Karl Jenkins'92 Concerto for Euphonium to a capacity audience in Wales'92 most prestigious concert venue, St David'92s Hall. The concert featured music composed by Karl Jenkins CBE, performed by the Cory Band and Chorus. Following the Euphonium Concerto directed by David'92s father Robert, Karl Jenkins took to the podium to conduct his epic Armed Man: A Mass for Peace, once again featuring David as euphonium soloist in the hauntingly beautiful Benedictus.

The concert was a huge success and received rave reviews. Within days of performing the Karl Jenkins Concerto in Wales, David found himself performing the work once again, but this time with the James Madison University Brass Band in West Virginia USA! The concert which took place in the University'92s superb new Concert Hall was conducted by Professor Kevin Stees and was followed by a master class for the University brass department presented by David.



From the beautiful surroundings of the Blue Ridge Mountains, David went on to North Carolina where he gave a fantastically well received recital and master class at the University of Greensboro, before flying to Cincinnati to perform as guest soloist at the College Conservatory of Music'92s '91Brass Showcase'92 concert. Respected tubist Timothy Northcut directed David'92s performance with the CCM brass choir and described the young soloist quite simply as, '93the world'92s finest euphonium soloist.'94



From Cincinnati it was once again a flight back over the Atlantic to the UK, this time to present a master class and concert together with fellow Cory soloists for the young brass talent of Exeter. The finale concert saw more than 100 brass musicians on stage with Cory. Following the concert which featured David as soloist Paul Painter, Development Leader of the Devon Music Service described the event as, '93a truly inspiring experience led by an outstanding band of musicians.'94



Within a few days David once again left mainland Britain, this time for a series of concerts in Northern Ireland. Led by David'92s father Robert an ensemble of Cory soloists gave several performances throughout Northern Ireland including a concert in Armagh'92s '91Centre for the Arts'92 during which David performed '91Neath Dublin Skies, a solo composed especially for him by Paul Lovatt-Cooper. A day later, when joined by the full Cory Band David once again featured as soloist during a tremendous concert in Dungannon where he premiered a new version of the Irish classic, Believe Me If All Those Endearing Young Charms to an outstanding ovation from a capacity audience.

After a series of lessons at the Royal Welsh College of Music and the Birmingham Conservatoire, David once again left the UK, heading this time to Germany, home to Besson'92s low brass production. Here in the town of Markneukirchen David, together with fellow euphonium soloist Steven Mead, worked on a variety of new Besson euphonium designs during the initial development stage of what could become a future euphonium range from Besson! Very exciting'85.

With Christmas only a week or so away David still had further musical commitments to fulfill including another guest soloist appearance in St David'92s Hall Cardiff, this time in aid of the worthy CLIC Sargent charity. Performing a solo set in each half David and renowned pianist John Wilson delighted the audience at this '91Celebration of Christmas'92 which also featured the Brass Ensemble of the Welsh Guards, the Gwent Hospital Choir of 250 voices, and the St Julien'92s Primary School Choir. David Davies, musical director for the evening described the euphonium soloist'92s contribution as '91breathtaking'92.



Following a great concert in Cardiff David travelled to Cornwall in his capacity as professional music advisor to the Camborne Youth band organisation. Following two days coaching the youngsters on Berlioz Roman Carnival it was time to brave the snow and head home for Wales to attend Cory'92s annual awards before settling in for a well earned Christmas break.

David'92s 2011 performance schedule kicks off once again on January 7th when he flies out to the Netherlands to appear as guest soloist with Fanfare EMM Oudega (http://www.emmoudega.nl)
