David recently returned from a whirlwind tour of the Benelux. The tour started in Belgium where David performed as a guest soloist with Brass Band Heist conducted by Bert Van Thienen during their annual Easter Monday Concert.

The following day saw David give a masterclass followed by a full length Solo Recital at the Josef Pauly Music Academy Antwerp. On day 3 of the tour it was time for another guest soloist performance, this time in Rotterdam with Brass Band Rijnmond. Following a masterclass from David he performed several solos with the band including the beautiful Summer Isle from Philip Sparke'92s Hymns of the Highland.

The British style brass band has become a popular ensemble in both Belgium and the Netherlands with the number of bands increasing dramatically over the last two decades. However, Germany is relatively new to the British style ensemble and it was Germany David headed for on day 4.

Following an afternoon masterclass in Essen David was the guest of Cologne Concert Brass and attended their rehearsal where he gave an informative class on various elements of performance and also delighted the band'92s members by performing a couple of solos and conducting the band.



Day 5 saw David return to the Netherlands to give a masterclass and solo recital at the Netherlands Music Conservatory Enschede. The sponsors of this event were van Weerel Musical Instruments '96 a wonderful family music shop in Enschede, the home town of Grolsch since 1895!

The final day of this short tour was spent in the Heereneveen, home of the well known Dutch music retailer Van ger Glas. Here David gave a masterclass and demonstrated the York Preference 3067, Preference 3068 & Eminence 4052 euphonium models.

David will be performing in Belgium again later this year during October.
