Following 5 days as tutor with the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain under the inspirational direction of Maestro Bramwell Tovey, David departed the UK for Amsterdam where he gave a Master Class at Terpstra Muziek.

David commented, "After a pretty stressful journey it was great to see about 30 enthusiastic euphonium players all keen to play something for me! After hearing many of the players perform individually the session ended with a massed performance of Lascia Pianga from Handel's Rinaldo -  a beautiful arrangement by my sister."

The following day David travelled from one side of Holland to the other arriving in Kerkrade in time for a rehearsal with Koninklijke Fanfare Eendracht Waubach in preparation for their 'Colours of Sound' concert taking place the following evening in Theater Kerkrade.

The concert was a success. Here's David's facebook diary entry which followed the performance. "Today I explored Kerkrade a little more than I did 4 years ago when here competing at World Music Contest with Cory. I visited the WMC venue and then the beautiful Theater Kerkrade for a sound check. I've now just arrived back at the hotel after a fun concert. We played Curnow's Rhapsody for Euphonium which brought back memories of my 1991 under 12's debut at the Hull Festival! After that a couple of favourites in the form of Carnival and Brillante before Bizet's Carmen Fantasy! I'm not sure whether Sergei would have approved, but I certainly enjoyed myself and I think the audience did too! Now time to head back out to a bar called Jenne Sjlaagboom for the 'after party'! Back home tomorrow."
