Over the last few days David has had the distinct pleasure of visiting the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland (NYBBS), offering advice to the young brass musicians in masterclasses, sectionals, and individual tuition.

The NYBBS is formed of three ensembles, led by an inspirational team of conductors, tutors and support staff. The senior NYBBS is the premiere level youth ensemble of the organisation, offering high-profile performance opportunities under internationally renowned musical directors. This is preceded by the reserve band, which is designed as a ‘stepping stone’ to nurture developing young players, while the children’s band provides a wonderful opportunity for younger, less experienced musicians, offering the perfect introduction to the wider world of brass band music.

David wishes the best of luck to the bands for their concerts, and strongly encourages all who can to support the NYBBS Children’s Band concert in the Chapel at Strathallan School on Saturday 29th July at 2pm, and the Reserve and Senior Band in St John’s Kirk Perth at 7pm the same day.
