On the 22 & 23 June David gave a series of masterclasses before performing as a guest soloist in the 'Teatro Comunale Riccardo Casalaina' with Novara's wind orchestra under the direction of Maestro Giuseppe Paratore.

During the concert David performed no less than 8 solos with the band including Philip Sparke's Harlequin and a number of David's own arrangements. Reporting on the concert a famous sicilian journal (Giornale
di Sicilia, 20 Giugno 2007) printed : "David Childs, young prodigious player, astonishes audience with his virtuosity and versatility making a present playing more than two hours. A sensational success".

The president of the orchestra, Filippo Trifiletti commented:"An excellent masterclass, an amazing euphonist and also a boy with a surprising humanity". This was David's first time to perform in Sicily, but following this successful concert to a capacity audience, Maestro Giuseppe Paratore has invited David back to perform as a guest soloist with another of his Sicilian wind orchestras later next month - this time in Antillo.
