David with his students from the IBBSS

'93I've been a fan of music summer schools for a long time. In my opinion a keen brass player of any standard should always strive to improve his or her own musical ability. The unique environment of a summer school enables this and so much more! You can combine the fun of a holiday with the satisfaction of making music with others whilst learning from some of the finest tutors in the business.

This summer I had the privilege of tutoring together with an excellent music staff on two UK based summer schools: The International Brass Band Summer School held in Swansea South Wales and Bromsgrove'92s Brass Band Summer School '96 the oldest organisation of its kind in the world.

Enjoy photos from both events below, together with details of 2009'92s courses. Sign up quick! You'92ll have a great time '96 I did!'94 Dave Childs
