On January 1st 2011 the online brass magazine www.4barsrest.com announced the winners of their 2010 4BR Awards. Having given their readership of 15,000+ the opportunity to vote, the cyber ballot boxes were emptied, the votes counted and the results published as follows:

'Player of the Year': David Childs

A clear winner '96 as the supremely talented euphonium star claimed the title for the third time.

Amazingly, he was the oldest player in the nominations, and polled 53% of the votes cast.

'Solo CD of the Year':

As with the Player of the Year category, the amazing David Childs swept the board in the Solo CD category this year, posting 55% of the votes cast.

On receiving the two awards David commented, '93To hear I'92d won both awards was a brilliant way to start 2011! With so many superb performances and solo CD releases in the last year these accolades mean a great deal to me."

4BR have nominated David for '91Player of the Year'92 three times during the last 10 years, and on every occasion he has won!
